* Per Dr. Harry Greenberg, Senior Associate Dean for Research, Instructors with an M.D. degree and an active NIH K-Award can request a one time PI waiver in order to apply for this RFA.

NIH Director’s Bridge Awards (NDBA)
NIH Announcement for possible funding for investigators submitting a competing renewal research project grants (R01) application or the first revision of the competing renewal application (A1) who just miss the nominal funding payline. Individuals may be nominated by the administering NIH institute for a NIH Director's Bridge Award (NDBA) provided the PI has less than $200,000 in other support (total costs) from all sources to fund their research.
